Miniature American Shepherd

In the 1960s, people in California had a vision: to design a dog that was as dynamic and smart as an Australian Shepherd but in miniature form. To do this, they took undersized Aussies and combined them with smaller unregistered dogs resembling their larger counterparts – thus creating the Miniature American Shepherd (MAS). Through their efforts, these people were able to bring about an entirely new breed of canine suitable for all sorts of households!

The Miniature American Shepherd is a small spirited herder that can be seen both on the farm sorting out goats and sheep, as well as accompanying horse shows. He has an amicable temperment, along with a medium-length double coat–making him perfect for outdoor activities. This pup was bred to live in both rural ranches/farms or inside suburban homes due to its portability and intelligence; he still retains his ability of herding but doesn’t require large living spaces like other full size shepherds do!

The Miniature American Shepherd is a perfect companion for anyone looking for an active, loyal family pet. Whether it’s in the city or country, this pup will never let you down as long as its owners don’t forget to give him plenty of physical and mental activity to keep his brain engaged and ward off boredom. Not only that, but they have their own unique look with naturally docked tails (or “bobtails”) and sometimes mismatched eyes!

Despite his size, the MAS definitely needs exercise. This clever and energetic pup is capable of excelling in various canine activities such as agility, herding, nose work, obedience and rally. Furthermore, he loves running around outside or playing catch with you! Fortunately for us all though – potty training him isn’t too difficult! So if you’re looking for a companion that will keep up with your active lifestyle then perhaps the MAS is perfect for you! He’s best suited to someone who can provide him with adequate physical activity along with ample amounts of mental stimulation since this ensures he remains out of trouble.
