Silver Lake Dog Hike – Easy 4 Miles
February 5 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm EST
Silver Lake Trail is a 4 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Highland, Illinois that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Well maintained, out & back trail through the woods following along Highland’s Silver Lake. The trail runs North into I-70 where it loops back around into the original trail back.
Length: 4.0 mi
Elevation gain: 121 ft
Route type: Out & back
This will not be a power hike. We stop frequently for pictures and general shenanigans. We will hike at a pace the group is comfortable with, with no pup left behind.
Once you are at the park, follow the road all the way down, past the restrooms, until you see the parking lot by the trailhead. Sometimes the GPS doesn’t take you far enough down the road.
Great Attitude and Sense of Humor
Hiking Boots are recommended, poles if you use them
Dog Necessities and Plenty of Water
Snacks, if desired
**Please do not be a no-show. My pups will have to listen to me complain about it the whole way home. Don’t make those sweet pups have to deal with that.**
