This popular park offers extraordinary views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. Explore the secrets of this northwest Seattle watershed, nine miles from downtown. Here, 220 acres of lush forest, meadows, wetlands, creeks, and beach are formed by the magic of water and time.
We will start at Pipers Creek McAbee Trailhead behind the QFC on Holman Road,
Plan on about 4 miles RT, with ups/downs on dirt pathways. You can come and do half the loop if you don’t mind heading back on your own, or can remain to complete both sides of the ridge trail.
Dogs allowed on leash.
Poop must be scooped and disposed of appropriately
Please be aware that the parking lot at this trailhead is small. street parking nearby is usually available, as well as the backside of QFC, then walk across to the trailhead.
As the fall turns to winter, the weather and road conditions can change planned meetups. Be sure you check the morning of an event to see if it is still happening.
Prepare yourself with good footwear (I suggest purchasing some yak traks or snotrax for your feet when it is snowy and icy).
