SATURDAY MORNING HIKE – Lincoln Park, West Seattle
November 19 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm EST
The West Seattle Bridge is back open, lets go to Lincoln Park and hike the trails. There are dirt/gravel trails up top and down below there is a paved walk along the beach.
“Lincoln Park is West Seattle’s major multi-purpose park – a nose-shaped bluff on Puget Sound just north of the Fauntleroy Ferry Terminal. Switchbacks on the north and gentle trails to the south connect a mile of seawalls, rocky beaches to a bluff of grassy forests and meadows with play and picnic areas galore.”
(Excerpt from *Enjoying Seattle’s Parks* by Brandt Morgan)
Amazingly diverse for its size, Lincoln includes 4.6 miles of walking paths, 3.9 miles of bike trails, five picnic shelters, acres of playfields, and an outdoor heated saltwater pool and bathhouse.
Dogs allowed on leash.
Poop must be scooped and disposed of appropriately
Meet near the south parking lot, down by the fauntleroy ferry terminal.
As the fall turns to winter, the weather and road conditions can change planned meetups. Be sure you check the morning of an event to see if it is still happening.
Prepare yourself with good footwear (I suggest purchasing some yak traks or snotrax for your feet when it is snowy and icy).
