Parade Participant Information – Holiday Lights Parade – Dec 3 Thank you for taking part in our annual Holiday Lights Parade. The parade is Saturday, Dec 3, 2022 starting at 5:30 PM, with the city tree lighting immediately after the parade. Visits with Santa will be held at the Community & Cultural Center after the lighting. Roads will start closing at 4:00 PM and we encourage you to start preparing at that time.
Parade Staging & Vehicle Entrance: Staging will be on Monterey, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Depot Streets and the Farmers Market parking lots. Depot Street will be closed to traffic at 4 PM. Parade vehicles ONLY please enter Depot (parade area) at Dunne Avenue after 4:00 PM. The city has agreed to open the new Depot/Dunn intersection. Note, the road through the CCC may be gravel, but this is the preferred entrance.
***Participants: We strongly recommend that participants park in the Transit Parking lot off Butterfield (Car Pool!) and walk across the train tracks, joining your unit by 4:45 PM. Units with children should arrange drop off and pick up-points for families prior to the parade. We suggest children’s groups use adult supervised location and escort children to their location. Please do not try to enter the staging area for drop off, only vehicles that are in the parade should enter the staging area.***
Staging Location: Prior to the parade you should receive an email with parade placement and stage location information. Placement/location numbers will be marked on the curb and Kiwanis staging marshals in yellow vests should be able to direct you.
Check In: Please have your unit sign in at the Kiwanis Check-in tent at 3rd and Depot by 4:30 PM. Here you will be given your parade position number. Place the number on the passenger side window of unit (or arm band) so our announcers can identify your unit.
Please remind all children and selfie taking adults to be aware of traffic, pedestrians, curbs. uneven street surfaces. We wish you all a fun parade and a joyful holiday season.
