Dog Daze – The Water Mine (Reston)

Join us at the Water Mine in Reston from 9 to 1. Unfortunately, it looks like they are slowly consolidating all dog swims to the same Saturday and only doing a few parks so this will be the official event. Last year they cancelled on us last minute so please keep me posted if you see a cancellation notice and we will migrate the gathering to another open pool day. Expect it to be a long line to enter so please try to park and gather around 8-8:30 at latest. Have cash and records on hand to get through the line quickly.

Please make sure to have vaccination records and a life jacket for those attempting they paws at swimming the deeper pools. This park has a lazy river and nice shallow pool for corgis as well as a large grassy hill for non-swimmers. You can bring lawn chairs for the grassy hill but you WILL get peed on so don’t set up any blankets/towels on the ground.

As a reminder do NOT trim your dogs nails less than a week before this event. Water and nails soften and you may end up with bloody nails. While this is a good way to push back a quick it will freak everyone out if your dog is running around leaving bloody paw prints so don’t be that dog!
